At the gate. A gate contains within itself possibility. It both blocks and allows. Our lives are gated. Computers are gated. They are everywhere, these artificial gates. Animals do not wait.

  1. Very deep! Our brains are just too big. That’s the problem. We devise all these ways to shut ourselves in and others out. If we just ate, slept, and copulated, the world might be a better place, eh? Although not as interesting…

  2. Rhea: Yes! Have you read Galapagos by Vonnegut? Brains too big, indeed.

Hui: Love what you said, remove the gates and welcome chaos with our bare hands. I wonder what chaos feels like when you touch it?

Adam: Yes that worked! I am loving my theme too!

  3. galapagos… ofc there’d be stuff abt evolution in there, beautifully snide digs n all

geez it’s been like 9 years since I went thru Vonngut’s books… (sara, hold it for the winter holidays… you’ve got all his books at CA….FOCUS on the ones you ve already piled up)

anyway, regarding brain size, hmmm, have any of you read about the hand and how it may have been directly responsible for the evolution of our brain size, and the eventual need for/use of language? fascinating stuff… interested? holler my way and I’ll supply some titles :)
